Day 19 40 Day Challenge GLIMMER MIST

These pages look much better in person, the camera really didn't pick up the background coloring with the glimmer mist. All in all I'm happy with how it turned out.  On to the next challenge.

Day 18 40 Day Challenge LACE

I did these two layouts the same because they are photos of both of my grandmothers.  They mirror each other.  Lots of lace! I used different colored backgrounds to emphasize the photo colors.

WOO HOO!!!! THIS HAS BEEN FUN!!! ANYONE ELSE ENJOYING THIS CHALLENGE!

Leave a comment if you're joining us and how you are feeling doing this challenge.  I'm having a blast!  So far I've been able to keep up.  It feels so good to be scrapbooking again!

Day 17 40 Day Challenge BIRDS

Don't ask me WHY I chose "Birds", because I have no idea.  I managed to work them in to these pages.  First time using my Paper Pups Cricut Cart.  Love it!!!

Day 16 40 Day Challenge GLITTER

For these layouts I used some papers I bought at a garage sale last year.  I painted some Tim Holtz grungeboard pink and then glitter embossed them before adhering them to my pages.  I love gray and pink together.  The butterfly signifies my mom and my niece Becky who are missing from the photos.

FYI REGARDING MY CHALLENGE PRODUCTS

I have been a consultant (pretty much for hobbyist purposes) for Close To My Heart for many, many years so most of the product I have been using is from them.  I am not a "purist" though.  I love Basic Grey, Ranger, DCWV, Graphic 45, SEI, and lots and lots and lots of other manufacturers.  The fact is I LOVE IT ALL!  I also love many different artist mediums.

Going away this weekend

Hey Everybody, just an FYI, I'll be out of town this weekend and will catch up posting on Monday.  Stay tuned and Keep on Scrapbooking those challenges!  I can't wait to see yours.  Please remember to let me know when you post (let me know if you need help in posting) so we can see what you've done!  Just leave a comment under one of the 40 Day Challenge posts.  Thanks and HAVE FUN using it up!!!  See you again on Monday!

Day 12 40 Day Challenge FELT

Day 11 40 Day Challenge BRADS

I scraplifted this cool layout from Creating Keepsakes Feb 2010 issue, artist Andrea Friebus...I have quite a few of the same papers in different colors and wanted to use them all.  I really liked how it turned out.  Thanks Andrea!  Of course,  I tweaked it a little bit.

40 Day Challenge Thoughts and Perspective

As I go along, I am realizing that some of the techniques/themes I chose are rather challenging, more than I thought they would be.  I have been spending approximately 2 hours on each layout, give or take depending on what I've dreamed up.  I haven't really been using sketches like I thought I would be.  I've been choosing the photos first and then dreaming up some way to incorporate the daily technique.  It's been working out ok and I've been happy with the results.  Some days I've simplified the technique so much that it doesn't seem fair to me to get off so easily, but in all fairness, I technically used whatever that day called for and it's done.

I also have a little tiny distraction and his name is Oscar!  He is in training right now and we just can't let up on it.  I'm thankful that he takes alot of naps!  He's the bomb!!!  I love how pets make you laugh.  Here he is trying to clean himself.

Day 9 40 Day Challenge BOTTLE CAPS

I totally had fun with this page!  I hadn't used bottle caps in years.  These bottle caps are from my husband's stash.  He used to bottle homemade beer now he kegs it.  They are much less expensive when you buy them for that purpose.  Anyway, he gave me these bottle caps.  I had to hammer down the edges to make them lie flatter, hitting my finger in the process many times, yikes, that hurt!  Enjoy!

FYI 40 Day Challenge Examples

Just so you know the pages with photos are mine and the pages without photos belong to my friend Ruth.
